The Situation
A sloping wooded parcel on the edge of Summersville had to become a level, compacted pad for a pre-engineered steel building. The natural grade fell nearly twenty feet across the footprint, and a seasonal drainage crossed the middle of the intended slab.
What We Did
We rerouted the drainage into a piped system with a headwall before touching the pad, then balanced the cut and fill on site so no material had to be imported or hauled off. Fill went in in lifts with compaction testing at each, and the finished elevation was shot against the civil benchmark.
Result
Pad delivered at spec density with as-built elevations documented. The steel erector started on schedule with no subgrade remediation.
