The Situation
An existing two-track climbing out of a hollow washed out every spring. The owner had been adding gravel for years without addressing why it kept disappearing downhill.
What We Did
We rebuilt it as a structure rather than resurfacing it again: grubbed the corridor to mineral soil, laid geotextile through the wet sections, installed cross culverts sized to the drainage area, cut roadside ditching, and built a compacted aggregate base with a proper crown.
Result
A road that sheds water instead of channelling it. Now on an annual grading contract rather than an annual rebuild.
